Accountant VAT - Aalst

As an Accountant VAT, your responsibilities include:

• Execute and coordinate VAT and Intrastat activities for multiple European entities.
• Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns in line with local regulations and deadlines.
• Ensure accuracy of VAT accounts, reconciliations, and month-end activities.
• Monitor compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements.
• Support internal and external audits and respond to tax authority queries.
• Collaborate with local finance and tax teams to ensure correct VAT treatment.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and standardisation.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure timely, compliant reporting.

The successful Accountant VAT will have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Solid knowledge of VAT compliance and reporting in a European context.
• Experience with Intrastat reporting is a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
• A structured and organised working style with respect for deadlines.
• Good Excel skills; experience with SAP is a plus.
• Professional working proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
• A proactive mindset and interest in continuous process improvement.
